Welcome!

I founded GFIT Education, LLC. as a means of offering LIVE fitness education to instructors in the Pacific Northwest. With a background rooted in both fitness and education, I have always been a fitness educator to my "core." Specifically, here are some of my professional roles:
GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR. I have 20 years as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor (this means I even taught classes up until days before delivering all three of my boys). I hold group-fitness certifications with ACE and AFAA, plus some specialty areas, such as Schwinn Cycling and Barre Above. I'm constantly progressing my own professional growth by reading fitness literature. I keep my thumb on "the pulse" of the fitness industry!
GROUP FITNESS DIRECTOR. I have served as the Group Fitness Director of my local fitness facility for 10 years, hiring, training, scheduling, and developing our program. I know what employers want in an instructor because I am one of them!
CLASSROOM TEACHER. I'm also a classroom teacher. Since 1999, I have been teaching for my school district, primarily Language Arts and Physical Education. I hold a Master of Arts in Communications and have strong writing skills. I earned an Master of Education: Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University and have developed fitness curriculum and programming. I have transferred the need to meet standards from the world of education to the fitness arena.
CONTRIBUTING AUTHOR: Most recently, I have picked up the pen again and began writing--this time in the form of group-fitness articles. I'm an author for GXunited.com, and I am enjoying the group-fitness "word."
On a personal level, I'm a mom, wife, sister, and friend. Like you, I wear numerous hats. I'm super busy, but life is GOOD!
